New Gears of War 3 DLC Dated – RAAM Returns

The first amount of DLC for Gears of War 3 hasn’t made it to the console yet, but that hasn’t stopped Microsoft from detailing yet another piece that will be arriving on the 360. The next downloadable pack will feature the first additional campaign addition to the game, and a former enemy returns as a playable character – RAAM. This will be the biggest piece of DLC in Gears history, according to Cliff Bleszinski.

The content pack will be called “RAAM’s Shadow,” and the name fits. It enters the story as a prequel to the entire Gears of War series, and it includes three hours of new gameplay. Players will take control of Zeta Squad just after Emergence Day. Zeta Squad will consist of Minh Young Kim, Tai Kaliso, Michael Barrick, and Alicia Valera. You can also play as General RAAM himself.

Cliff touched on the DLC for a bit of detail, saying, “RAAM’s imposing size and strength, along with his Kryll shield, make him one of the most powerful and daunting foes in the ‘Gears’ universe. We think fans are going to have a blast unleashing hell upon the poor humans for the first time in a campaign setting.” RAAM’s Shadow will be available for 1200 Microsoft Points on December 13th. It will surely provide plenty of play time to get you through the holidays. Enjoy the bloodshed, folks.
