The last words anyone had heard about Silent Hill were that October was set to be a huge month for fans of the survival horror series. Both Silent Hill Downpour and the Silent Hill HD Collection were slated for an October release, but now there has been some haze thrown into the mix. Now as far as we can tell, both titles have been pushed back to next year.
Many retailers had Downpour and the HD Collection delayed into 2012 and an announcement on MCV stated that the move was official. Now Konami is saying that we can expect the games to arrive in “early 2012.”
While Silent Hill 2 and 3 are presented in the HD Collection, Downpour is a new title entirely. Vatra Games is bringing the new story to the PS3 and Xbox 360 complete with new characters, and enemies. It looks like we’ll just have to wait to continue the fight for survival in the eerie world of Silent Hill. As more arrives on the titles, we will update accordingly.
