Skyrim System Requirements Revealed

Players have been anxiously waiting for it, and the information has finally been revealed. Bethesda’s Pete Hines released the minimum and recommended PC specs for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on his Twitter page. The main question to ask now is, can your rig handle it?

Honestly, these specs are fairly reasonable, though understandably they are on the higher end of things. First, here’s the recommended specs:

Operating System: Win XP/7
CPU: Quad-Core Intel/AMD CPU
Memory: 4GB RAM, 6GB Hard Drive Space
Sound: DirectX compatible sound card
Video Card: DirectX9 video card with 1GB memory. GTX 260/Radeon 4890 or higher

After seeing that, here are the minimum specs:

Operating System: Win XP/7/Vista (32 or 64 bit)
CPU: Dual Core 2GHz
Memory: 2GB RAM
Video Card: DirectX9c video card w/ 512MB RAM

These specs sting a little, but they won’t blow your wallet. For most avid PC gamers, this set up is attainable. If you’re not on the higher tears of PC gaming, however, you may want to consider the console version of Skyrim. It’s your choice.
