The Xbox Website Will See Changes, Adding Social Interaction

If you’re an Xbox gamer we’ve got some news that may or may not raise your morale. The “My Xbox” section of Xbox.com that we’ve all come to know will be making its departure very soon. The section is being wiped to make way for some new changes and a completely new interface for all Xbox Live users to navigate.

This new section will be called “Social” and it will feature specific information on what your online friends are up to at any given moment. It will add Beacons, which will allow you to mark games that you want to play with others, making it much easier to locate some friends to play the same titles for a great time. These Beacons will also be coming to the Xbox Live Dashboard, so be on the lookout.

That’s not everything of course, and more will be coming. Players can look forward to the ability to search through the Zune catalog, adding the ability to purchase movies right from the browser. The update should go live in the next coming days, so stay tuned to see them take over. With these new changes, it looks like Microsoft is making it easier for friends to connect, which is important for competitive players.
