More Details On The Last of Us, Including Voice Actors

Just yesterday we announced some details about the PS3 exclusive action/adventure title The Last of Us from Naughty Dog. We learned that the game focuses around two characters that are fighting for survival across an urban wasteland after a modern virus has swept over the human race. We’ve just found out even more information on the game, including the fact that it’s been in development for over two years. This comes according to Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog Creative Director, via Twitter.

Druckman also took it upon himself to reveal the two leads for the game. The two main protagonists are Joel, a protective survivor, and Ellie, a teenage girl who is wise way beyond her years. The actors chosen to voice these characters are not unknown in the gaming world, which makes their roles that much more interesting. Joel is being voiced by Troy Baker, the very same actor who is lending his talents to Booker DeWitt from Bioshock Infinite. He also voiced Two-Face in Batman: Arkham City. As for Ellie, she’s being voiced by Ashley Johnson, the same voice behind Gwen from the Ben 10 cartoon series.

The Last of Us isn’t set to be a childish title according to its PEGI rating. It’s been slapped with an M for Mature by the ESRB, meaning that it’s no title for the meek. Finally, the UK page for the game lists “no network play,” possibly suggesting that the game will not feature any online modes. For now that’s the word from Naughty Dog, and we’ll eagerly be awaiting more.
