Capcom has toyed around with the idea of Resident Evil 6 for a while now, not really giving us too much to go on with the future of the survival horror series. They claimed that a game would come, though they’ve been busy with Resident Evil: Revelations for the 3DS, and the upcoming Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Recently, however, a trailer has surfaced that not only confirms that Resident Evil 6 is a reality, but also gives us a first look at what we’ll see with the game.
Ten years have passed since the incident at Raccoon City and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind the events that transpired. Raccoon City survivor and personal friend of the President, Leon S. Kennedy, arrives to find the President transformed beyond recognition by a bioterrorist attack. Leon is forced to make the hardest decision he has ever made, and takes matters into his own hands. Chris Redfield also finds his way into the mix, and tries to stop the terrorist attack at all costs.
The best thing about the trailer? It shows us that Capcom is trying to take the game back to its roots. The company is reintroducing the original nightmare and bringing back the zombies and B.O.W.s that we’ve come to be very afraid of. Also, at the end of the trailer we get a release date of November 20th, 2012. This means we’ll see the new Resident Evil title this year! I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited for a Resident Evil game, at least since the release of Resident Evil 3. Watch the trailer below and you’ll see it’s for good measure.
