Will Resident Evil 6 Feature Six-Player Co-op?

Now that Resident Evil 6 has been confirmed, Xbox.com has gone ahead and put up a product listing. The listing has the release date (though it looks incorrect from the image), along with some new features that have us pondering. A trailer was released, but aside from the video not many more details were released. Among these listed product features listed is online co-op, with up to six players.

If this is true, it will be the first time an online co-op of this size has been seen in the series. With Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City around the corner, we’ll see four-player co-op, but that’s the cap. Resident Evil 5 offered two-player co-op, but that’s where is stopped.

We don’t know exactly whether this is a correct listing or not, especially seeing how the release date is about ten months off. Resident Evil 6 has a confirmed release date of November 20th, later this year. We’re waiting to see if the listing gets corrected, as well as to see whether this co-op can be confirmed. A lot of players seem to think that this kind of co-op could make the game, which finally seems like the kind of Resident Evil we’ve been wanting, much less desirable. We’ll wait and see what details arrive.
