XCOM Delayed Until 2013

The new XCOM first-person shooter title that’s being worked on by 2K Marin has indeed been delayed until 2013. The developer apparently has plans to relaunch the series with the 2012 XCOM: Enemy Unknown title coming out from Firaxis Games.

This comes as confirmation in the new issue of Game Informer. Marin’s take on the series made a big impression at last year’s E3 event, and many are upset at the delay. It just looks like the developer wants to take more time to release a better-polished version of the game for fans, and at least the series will see some sort of rebirth later this year.

As more details come out from 2K Marin, we’ll update. More can be found in issue 226 of Game Informer, so pick that up for more. Until more word comes, we’ll have to look forward to Enemy Unknown later this year.
