Well, there is good news and bad news if you want to pay online in SSX. The good news is that you’ll be able to play all of the online game modes with no restrictions. The bad news is that if you don’t have an Online Pass associated with your account, you won’t be able to redeem the in-game credits you earn from playing in those modes.
Luckily, if you don’t have an Online Pass, or you just don’t redeem yours, you can gain access to all the credits you’ve earned by adding the Online Pass. That way, if you decide to add the Pass later, you won’t have to start from scratch again to unlock different content.
This seems like a pretty good compromise for EA and gamers. This will let gamers who want to wait for cheaper, used copies of the game to be able to still play online. EA will also be able to get the extra money that they want from used video game sales, as gamers play their used copies of SSX and decide that they want to unlock more content. Overall, this lets EA get what they want without outright trampling over the gamer.
