GameStop Retires The Gamecube In April, Gives It A Nice Goodbye

As of April 2nd, the Nintendo Gamecube  will become “officially collectible” according to GameStop. What does this mean for the community? Well, basically, it means that the company will no longer accept any trades on Gamecube games, systems, or accessories once that date hits.

Now while that’s some sad news, it doesn’t mean that GameStop will quit selling the accessories and systems they have on-hand. They’ll be selling off that stock until their supply runs out, so you can still grab some loot. However, if you have any plans to dump off any of the system’s games or accessories you have, now would be the time to hop to it.

The Nintendo Gamecube celebrated 10 amazing years last fall, and it’s now reached its end. I loved the system, and think it is one of the best Nintendo introduced. Honestly, I think it set the standard for the Wii, and the DS, which is really commendable. It’s been an amazing run, and we hate to see you go. May you rest in peace.
