Tale Of Tales Needs Donations To Keep The Endless Forest Free

Developer Tale of Tales was commissioned by the Musee d’Art moderne Grand-Duc Jean in Luxembourg to make a work of art for their 2003 gallery. The response they gave resulted in the creation of The Endless Forest. They were ready to launch in 2005, and had all the funds necessary from Mudam to keep the server going.

If you’ve never had the chance to play, this isn’t really a “game,” but was more of an interactive screensaver. You are a deer that has no responsibilities or specific goals in mind, but can run through the vast forest scape and meet other players. There is no talking, but words can be said through different actions that you are presented with. It is a free-to-play game that oozes peace, harmony, and tranquility.

Sadly, the museum is going through some policy changes and can’t help with the costs any longer. It will cost about $220 to keep the servers running, and the developers are asking for donations to keep things up and going. There is a voluntary subscription in place, but one time donations are accepted as well. If you want to give this game a go, head here.
