THQ Being Sued By Adidas

There is more bad news for the already struggling THQ. Adidas has filed a lawsuit against THQ for a breach of contract. In December 2010, a deal was signed that stipulated that THQ was to release a game called MiCoach by January of 2012.

The 10 million dollar lawsuit couldn’t have come at a worse time, as THQ laid off 240 workers in the last month, and is being threatened with delisting from the NASDAQ stock exchange. The lawsuit states that THQ informed Adidas it would not be able to complete development of the game, due to an earlier round of the lay-offs that THQ had done.

THQ then allegedly refused to pass on the title to another developer, Adidas claims, and because of that Adidas is seeking an injunction against THQ from selling the rights of a MiCoach related title. The MiCoach software was intended to compete with other products like Nike+ and Garmin watches.
