Double Dragon Neon Is Coming To PSN And Xbox Live Arcade

Majesco Entertainment has just come to the news front with an announcement that has revived the inner gamer within all of us. In efforts to take nostalgic gamers all the way back to the eighties, the developer has revealed their upcoming project, Double Dragon: Neon. This rebirth of the old favorite beat-em-up will be arriving for both the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

Majesco will be teaming up with WayForward to complete the game, who is responsible for bringing us the BloodRayne: Betrayal title. Speaking about the game, WayForward’s Director Sean Velasco said, ““Double Dragon: Neon is far from a standard retro remake. It’s WayForward’s love letter to the decade that spawned the franchise – the music, the style, and culture of the 80’s pulse through the nucleus of Double Dragon: Neon. But don’t think this is a simple graphical facelift; with our innovative ‘mix tape’ level up system and power-up high-fives, we pushed it to the limit!”

From what we can tell, Double Dragon: Neon will take gamers back to the good old days, all while introducing brand new graphics and environments. I remember jamming for countless hours on Double Dragon back in the day, and I’m excited to see how Neon plays out. You can expect it this coming summer, and make sure you grab your friends. It will feature drop-in and drop-out co-op, and a brand new “Bro-op” online mode.
