After being caught in the crossfire of THQ’s restructuring plan, three former developers have founded Three Phase Interactive, a new independent studio based in Australia. Paul Baker, Chris Burns, and Drew Morrow are former employees of the Melbourne-based developer Blue Tongue Entertainment.
Despite the hardships that come with being laid off from any company, the three seem to enjoying the newfound freedom that comes with running your own studio. “It’s so exciting that we can get back to these DIY roots and just focus on making a game together and bringing it to market without all the red tape and organizational overhead of a large studio,” said technical director Paul Baker.
Their first title will be the 2D physics-based Stunt Jumper. It is due to release sometime in mid 2012 on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch.
