Mercenary Ops Details: Co-Op And Competitive Modes Revealed

This summer we will see a newcomer in the world of competitive FPS titles for the PC. Mercenary Ops is set to release this year, and it’s boasting some brand new competitive and co-op modes for players to gear up for. There’s plenty of contraband wrapped up in the announcement, and we’re here to break it down.

Starting with the Co-Op Missions, here’s what to expect:

  • Assault (5 players)

Push forward with a team in objective-based missions to gain access to equipment and upgrades. Fight against ruthless enemies that become more challenging behind each door, drawing players closer to an epic battle at the end of their assault.

  • Survival (5 players)

Battle it out in order to survive by fending off seemingly endless waves of attacking zombies and other walking dead species. Prepare for the horrors that lie ahead by preparing defenses and earning points to unlock weapons as well as ammunition needed in order to make it out alive.

  • Invasion (8 players)

Tackle waves of the enemy horde as they push forward in a path of destruction. Band together and use your time wisely while making each shot count as deadly foes – and minibosses – try to make it through your defenses. Defeating enemies earns in-game currency which can be used when you desperately need it.

Now we’ll move on to Competitive Modes:

  • Team Deathmatch (8 vs 8)

Compete in a kill-based match-up against other players in changing combat zones. Experience fast-paced tactical team battles and fight to emerge victorious with your team topping out the leaderboards.

  • Demolition (8 vs 8)

Engage in an objective-based struggle of destruction by working with a team of conspiring mercenaries to seek and destroy a targeted bomb site. Defend against the opposing force by finding and defusing the bomb, or by eliminating the threat completely.

  • Elimination (8 vs 8)

Take up arms against another team of mercenaries in tactical warfare to determine the overall champions of the battlefield. When the only thing that matters is obliterating the enemy, even the smallest mistake can be cause for defeat in this completion.

Based on the descriptions, it looks like Mercenary Ops will provide plenty of playability for FPS fans, as well as those looking to get into some co-op frag fests with friends. A batch of new screens for the game can be seen above, which should play to your viewing pleasure. If you’re looking for tactical-based combat, zombies and deathly creatures to blow up, and some good old team deathmatch gameplay, Mercenary Ops plans to deliver for you. I’m looking forward to it, are you?
