The Elder Scrolls Online Unleashes A Debut Trailer

Just yesterday the announcement for The Elder Scrolls Online went live, causing a massive uproar in the gaming community. This new MMO from Bethesda will bring the realm of Tamriel to players as it’s never been accessible before. We learned that Game Informer will have more details on the game in their upcoming June magazine, and now we’ve got a debut trailer that’s candy for our eyes.

The trailer isn’t anything too spectacular, but it does look pretty good. It’s essentially just the logo, which is a circular set of three metallic dragons, though we see them close up and detailed. The shading and detail are really smooth, and the movement effects look polished. If this is any hint as to how the game itself will look, then I’m excited. If it’s just a fancy way of announcing the game, I’ll waver a bit.

Many players remain excited for the game and details that are coming for it. Some players, though, feel that introducing The Elder Scrolls into an MMO form will take away the sense of the expansive, open world feel that the games introduce. The sense of wandering aimlessly alone in the wilderness and appreciating its beauty will be replaced by tons of low-level characters hopping about, flailing in the wind. I’m not going to get my hopes up too far, but I’ll still remain excited for the game.
