When it comes to the Halo series, nothing is more intense than its multiplayer. Sure, gamers have flocked all around for the game’s cinematic storyline and followed Chief through the years, but it’s the ongoing multiplayer that keeps gamers coming back for more as each new title releases. Starting with Halo 3, which introduced a new way to play online with the Xbox 360, and moving up through Halo: Reach, multiplayer has become a scene all on its own in the gaming community.
So, with something so big behind one of the biggest franchises in gaming history, how will the multiplayer in Halo 4 top what we’ve already experienced? 343 Industries isn’t ready to let the series die just yet, and with a new revivial of the storyline comes great new multiplayer to back it up. You won’t have any trouble taking on your friends with Halo 4’s new multiplayer aspect – something the developer is calling “Infinity.”
The UNSC Infinity is essentially a ship in space upon which training missions and combat scenarios are held. This is where players will come to enjoy multiplayer gaming sessions, which 343 will cater to on an ongoing basis. Each week episodic updates will come to the game, offering co-operative missions for players to explore. There will also be the same player versus player interactions as previous titles have hosted, with new features and content. It’s a great new way to experience multiplayer, and it will be ready as the game launches later this year. Check out the Infinity trailer below to learn more about it.
