Watch Dogs Coming To Xbox 360, PS3, And PC [E3 2012]

When we all saw the demonstration of Ubisoft’s latest IP, Watch Dogs, one of the first things that came to mind was how jaw-droppingly beautiful it looked. To see that kind of fluidity, lighting, and overall action on the screen made me think it was some sort of Hollywood spy thriller. So, it comes as a bit of a surprise to find out that Ubisoft plans on releasing Watch Dogs on “all the platforms we can”.

That’s including the Xbox 360 and PS3. Gaming systems that are almost 6 years old. In computer and gaming terms, that’s practically ancient. I’m not so sure that those systems, with their aging hardware, will be able to handle the awesomeness that is Watch Dogs.

But, chances are, Watch Dogs won’t be coming out on just the Xbox 360 and PS3. Instead, what’s more likely to happen is that they’ll have a slightly stripped down port on those consoles, and we’ll see the full version of the game on Sony and Microsoft’s new consoles. There’s even talks of a Wii U version, and given the emphasis on hacking using what appears to be a “super-cellphone”, I think that the Wii U version might be the best one of them all, if they develop it right. We’ll see what happens as we get closer to the release dates of the next generation of consoles.
