If you’re looking for the absolute best graphics card on the market, then you’re probably going to turn to the GTX 690. This dual-GPU powerhouse is currently unmatched in performance. Fans of AMD have been patiently waiting for an answer, which is expected to be the HD 7990.
VR-Zone has gotten their hands on some information from a trusted source about the upcoming card, and it’s looking like a beast. First, the 6GB card is said to have four 6-pin power connectors, which lead to a multiphase power regulation. These each power the GPUs, memory and PCI-e controller individually.
As for the other juicy details, it’s said that you can expect two Tahiti XT cores, 6GB of GDDR5 clocked at 1500MHz and PCI-e 3.0 support. AMD is also rumored to be bringing back support for six displays. Unfortunately four of them are supposed to be mini-DisplayPorts, with DVI for the other two. That is one part of the rumor that I hope isn’t true, as min-DisplayPorts are nothing short of annoying on a desktop. We’ll just have to wait to find out what AMD really has in store, though.
