Do you play a lot of Battlefield 3 with a regular group of people? If so, then you know how difficult it can be to setup very specific matches, even if you are running your own dedicated server. DICE has received a lot of criticism for not implementing a better solution for creating matches, but today they finally delivered.
The new “Matches” feature has finally gone live on all platforms, giving players the ability to coordinate matches on a level that they simply could not before. According to DICE you “will be able to select the time, server, game settings, and roster for their Matches creating a controlled and definitive environment for competitive play”
While this is great news, keep in mind that the new feature is limited to those actively renting a dedicated server. This isn’t a huge surprise, since the people who will be getting the most from this are those who already play in competitive groups, and likely do already rent a private server.
