The latest free batch of DLC for Left 4 Dead 2 has been released for both PC and Mac platforms. This adds five new campaigns to the game, though four of them hail from the original game. “Death Toll,” Dead Air,” “Blood Harvest” and “Crash Course” all make their way into the game, with a healthy dose of bug fixes and tweaks. The other campaign is, of course, “Cold Stream,” which is a community-created piece of content that Valve decided to make an official part of the game.
Granted, all of this content has been in the PC version for some time, in beta form. However, this marks the official release, complete with bug fixes. In addition to the new campaigns, you will now be able to access all mutations from the main menu, at any time. That means no longer waiting for them to rotate in order to play them.
If you haven’t picked up Left 4 Dead 2 yet, then you’ll be happy to know that it is currently on sale for a whopping $5. You can also pick up a four pack for just $15. That’s right, good guy Valve releases free DLC, then puts the game on sale. The sale is only good until tomorrow.
As for Xbox 360 players, Valve has stated that they are currently trying to fix a few last minute things, which has resulted in a delay of “a few days.” Since Microsoft only releases content once per week, we can expect that the content won’t be available until next week. The new DLC will cost 560 Microsoft Points.
