Last week many PC and PS3 owners were vastly disappointed to find out that Dawnguard, the long-awaited DLC for Skyrim was not coming to those systems any time soon. In fact, according to Bethesda, Dawnguard hadn’t even been announced yet for those systems, making the PS3 and PC fans wait in a sort of purgatory as they waited for some sort of information. Well, it looks like they’ll have to keep on waiting, but only for a short time longer.
“Just sit tight” is what Bethesda’s VP of marketing Peter Hines had to say. “We’ll have info soon.” So, again, we know nothing about when the DLC will be coming out, but hey, it looks like we’ll be learning some new information soon at least!
In other Skyrim-related news, patch 1.7 has just been released on Steam. For those of you who forgot, this is the patch that lets you fight on horseback. I’m not going to lie, while I might have to wait awhile to check out the awesomeness that is Dawnguard, at least I can kill some people without having to dismount from my horse, and that’s a nice change of pace! The console version of 1.7 will be submitted to manufacturers this week, so it shouldn’t be too long for the console players to get that patch.
CORRECTION: It appears that horseback combat actually came to the game in patch 1.6. Perhaps it’s been a little too long since I’ve last played this excellent game?
