Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD Release Date Announced For PS3

In the early 2000’s I spent many an hour in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 just thrashing the different maps and rocking out to some great tunes. It was easily one of my top 3 games for the system, and to this day I look back on it with a certain amount of nostalgia. With that being said, I know I’m not the only person out there who feels that way, and who’s excited to see the HD remake of THPS will be coming out for the PS3 soon!

According to the game’s official Facebook page, you can expect to see Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD being released for the PS3 on August 23rd through the PlayStation Network. The PC version does not have an exact date yet, but Activision is planning on releasing it “soon after” the PS3 version. The Xbox 360 owners have been lucky, however, as the game has been out on the 360 since mid-July.

I’ll admit, for me I’m most looking forward to playing the game on my PC. Sure, some people might argue that the PC isn’t exactly suited for skateboarding games, but I got a controller that’s basically molded from the PlayStation controllers of yesteryear. The Xbox 360 version of the game sells for the equivalent of $15, so expect the PS3 and PC versions to be at around that price as well.
