It’s already been announced that the PS3 version of Assassin’s Creed III will be receiving special exclusive missions, and now the PlayStation Blog has filled us in on what those missions will actually be. It looks like the content is centered on the ultimately infamous traitor, Benedict Arnold.
The post explains that, “Benedict Arnold’s secret plot to betray West Point and sabotage the American Revolution earned him the ultimate mark of infamy: a name that will forevermore be synonymous with deceit and treachery.” The content will be composed of four separate missions that will all revolve around this traitor, and only PS3 owners will pick them up.
George Washington himself will offer a special request that will bring into the forefront the plot at West Point. You’ll be investigating what Benedict Arnold was involved with, and discover important information. As the blog notes, “Across four missions, Connor will flush out Loyalist spies and work undercover for Benedict Arnold, culminating in a full-blown assault on West Point that Connor must halt at all costs.”
In short, this mission pack is going to be a lot of fun. Matt Turner, scriptwriter for the game, has assured us that the story arc for these missions will be more believable and realistic than that of the Tyranny of King Washington, saying that it will include actual dialogue thought to have been spoken by Arnold and much more. There’s no mention of anything for the other systems yet, but PS3 owners have this to look forward to.
