One of the most influential and frustrating multiplayer maps for Call of Duty: Black Ops was Nuketown. It was a quaint little setting, filled with mannequins that were frozen in time, awaiting the inevitable end. At the end of the match, regardless of which team won, a giant nuke hit the area and wiped out everything on the map – literally.
In the newest installment for the Call of Duty series, Black Ops 2, we’ll be revisiting the town, only this time it will be in the future. The new map is called Nuketown 2025, and players can get it as a pre-order bonus when they reserve the game. This newer version of the map encourages close quarters combat that helped make the original map the beast that it was. Where the old Nuketown was a replica of a suburb, this time around we’ll be seeing the “Model Home of the Future.” You can see the first promotional image for the map above.
Black Ops 2 is set to release on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on November 13th. It’ll also be on the Wii U when it releases. I enjoyed the Black Ops title for Call of Duty, even moreso than the Modern Warfare series. With an updated version of Nuketown and plenty of brand new destructive toys at your disposal, Black Ops 2 is sure to be another popular Call of Duty title.
