Metro Last Light ‘Preacher’ Trailer Released

I’ll admit that I was slow to pick up on the Metro train, and I regret waiting so long. I finally grabbed Metro 2033 through Steam not too long ago and it’s an amazing game. It’s got a sequel that’s in development, and a brand new trailer for the game has just released.

In the “Preacher” trailer for Metro: Last Light we see the refugees as they’ve fled to the safety of the Metro and have narrowly escaped Armageddon. Specifically we take a look at a man who was once thought to be crazy and deranged. He was one of those people who would wander about, spitting word of the oncoming end of the world, and people just stared in disgust. Now, at the end of days, he’s the one who has spoke truth all along – the Preacher.

The story of Metro is a unique and impressive one. So far the developers have stuck closely to the book that was written by Dmitry Glukhovsky, which serves as the game’s inspiration. The book tells a plot in which the world suffers a nuclear holocaust in the year 2013. The fallout has caused the birth of deadly creatures that have attacked many, driving people into the underground Metro tunnels for safety. Last Light builds upon the story, though it doesn’t pull from the book’s sequel Metro 2034. Still, the game looks great and I can’t wait to grab it. Check out the new trailer below and get ready to travel again amidst the survivors of the underground when Last Light launches in March 2013.
