With next year’s release of BioShock Infinite, there are a lot of questions that fans are hoping to have answered. While we can’t have everything cleared up Ken Levine did tweet one interesting tidbit over the weekend. It seems that the developers have no intention of including a multiplayer feature into the next installment in the franchise.
I wonder, is anyone really that disappointed in this revelation? I, for one, am happy to hear it. There seems to be a growing trend where developers seem to think it’s necessary to toss in some half-baked multiplayer feature into a perfectly good single-player game. While there’s nothing wrong with including a little something extra, I would rather see more time devoted to the single-player experience. Or if not that, then release the game a bit earlier. Or heck, just devote that team’s resources to some other title you’re working on.
RT @tha_don_101: @iglevine can you clear up whether or not Bioshock Infinite will have multiplayer modes?—Nope.

A raise of hands for everyone that played BioShock 2’s multiplayer mode? And how many times were you hanging out with your friends and someone actually suggested that you all spend your time playing that? And that, my friends, is exactly why I’m happy that Irrational isn’t tacking on some unnecessary mode into what looks like a great single-player game.
