I won’t lie, I’ve always though of the PlayStation Move as being a bit gimmicky. After all, it makes you have to buy a special controller to play a narrow range of games that support it. But I’d be lying if I said that that Portal 2 In Motion trailer didn’t look awesome.
If you don’t know what the Portal 2 In Motion DLC is then I’ll tell you. It’s the next bit of DLC for Portal 2 that makes extensive use of the PlayStation Move by introducing new gameplay mechanics like rotation, stretching, and even the ability to drag portals over a surface. This is not something you’ll be able to do with just a regular controller.
The DLC comes out November 6th, which is the same day as when Portal 2 will be made available for digital download on the PlayStation Network. As far as DLC is concerned it’s a little pricey at $9.99, though both the DLC and the original game will be 30% off for PlayStation Plus members. And if you have PlayStation Move and Portal 2 but you don’t feel like paying for the DLC yet, don’t worry: a patch is being released that’s giving the base game PlayStation Move support, though you won’t be able to use any of the new game mechanics unless you have the DLC.
