“Full Bore”, A Piggy Puzzle Platformer, Digs Its Way To Kickstarter!

Whole Hog Games is a studio founded on blood, sweat, and tears by three friends, Casey Carlin, Finn Beazlie, and Jake Federico.  All Adventure Time references aside, the three teamed up together to realize their first game, Full Bore.

Full Bore is a 2D puzzle adventure game set in abandoned tunnels and subterranean ruins.  Fredrick, the piggy protagonist, accidentally damages property belonging to the Full Bore Mining Company, and takes to digging underground to search for buried treasures to try and pay for the damages.

The game looks simple and retro, but features a series of complex vertical puzzles that the player must navigate by digging with their snout.  There are different block types within the underground network that behave differently to actions taken by the player.  Exploration is rewarded in the form of fat loots!

Whole Hog Games has released a demo for their game on their Kickstarter page.  Funding for the project starts today, the 12th of December, and they need to raise $12,500 in the 30-day deadline.  The first trimester of the game is completed and a good portion of it is available to play in the demo they offer, but the studio will need funding in order to get full-time programmers dedicated to it in order to get any sort of realistic release date.

You can check out their Kickstarter page here, or you can watch the trailer below.  If you’re interested in knowing more about Casey, Finn or Jake, they recently did an interview with Sam Wildman over at Nerdophiles, detailing their struggles and sacrifices (including a cross-continental move) that led them to the current state of the project.
