As video games became popular there were certain characters that really took off, like Pac Man, Mario, Sonic, and Mega Man to name a few. It didn’t take too long to start seeing many characters crossover into games with each other, like Super Smash Brothers, or Street Fighter X Tekken. That’s why it’s not surprising to see that Capcom is releasing Street Fighter X Mega Man here in the near future.
What is surprising, however, is the fact that this won’t be a fighting game, unlike most crossovers. Indeed, Street Fighter X Mega Man is an 8-bit Mega Man game, with “8 original Street Fighter-themed levels and bosses inspired by the legendary fighting game series”. That’s not to say there won’t be any fighting, as the bosses will all utilize different strategies and special moves against Mega Man.
The game will be released as a PC download on December 17th, but that’s not the best news! The game will be free, and as soon as December 17th hits you can pick it up at Capcom-Unity.com. That’s a pretty good way to celebrate 25 years in the business, if I do say so myself!
