XCOM: Enemy Unknown ‘Slingshot’ DLC Available Now
Today a brand new piece of DLC for XCOM: Enemy Unknown has released. The new content pack, entitled “Slingshot” adds a new playable character to the team as well as three new maps linked to the Council missions. If that’s not enough to sell you on the DLC it comes with an awesome trailer to sway you.
In the Slingshot DLC a Triad member joins the XCOM squad to help out while players work at diverting an alien ship’s course. The whole plan is to engage the ship in combat while its trajectory is thrown off in the skies above China. Players will see their squad actively board the alien craft and attempt to take it out of the sky for good.
Slingshot is available now for $6.99 on the PS3 and PC, and 560 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360. The new missions are well worth the cost, and adding the new character Zhang is a great bonus. Beware, though, as he is victim to the same XCOM rules as the others – once he dies he will stay dead. Check out the trailer below and make sure you pick up Slingshot for yourself.
