GTA V Release Date Pushed Back To September 17, 2013

Rockstar has finally announced the official release date for Grand Theft Auto V, and sadly, it’s not going to make most people happy. Rather than the spring release that they were aiming for, they have pushed the release back until September 17 of this year.

We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.

When you consider just how highly anticipated this title is, I can’t blame them for wanting to put as much polish on it as possible. After all, this is Rockstar’s flagship franchise. One botched release could spell disaster in this economy. My stance is always that I am disappointed by release dates that get pushed back, however, I would much rather see a polished game that’s late, rather than a buggy game on-time.

Sadly, they still did not give any information regarding a PC release for the game. It’s likely that we won’t hear anything of it until after it has debuted on console, as with previous GTA games. Still, maybe the delay will mean that the PC release (if it happens) won’t be too far behind.
