During Sony’s press conference yesterday, Blizzard came onstage to announce that it would begin to branch away from its current PC-exclusive business model to partner with Sony to create a PlayStation 3 and 4 port of last year’s long-awaited Diabolo III.
Chris Metzen from Blizzard joked that this would be their first step towards “taking over the world”, and admitted that Blizzard has been eager to break back into the console market. Diablo III’s port was their only game announcement for tonight, though they did reveal that the PS3 and PS4 versions would include a 4-player co-op mode.
Blizzard fans should definitely keep an ear on the tracks once Blizzcon rolls around again this November. With any luck, we’ll have more console announcements on the horizon.
