Rayman Legends No Longer Wii U Exclusive, Delayed Until September

Rayman Legends, the Wii U exclusive game announced last year, is no longer exclusive for the Wii U. Instead, it was announced last Thursday that Rayman Legends was going to come to the Xbox 360 and PS3 as well. The game was originally intended to be a launch title for the Wii U, but was delayed until February 26th.

However, because of the imminent launch of the game on the PS3 and Xbox 360, the game has been further delayed. This time it’ll be delayed 6 to 7 months, all the way to September. That’s to give the developers (Ubisoft Montpellier) time to get the game ready for the other consoles.

Officially, the reason why they’re releasing the games on those consoles has to do with giving the PS3 and Xbox 360 owners what they want, as the fans “really wanted to play Rayman Legends on their current system”. While I am sure that is true I have to imagine that part of the reason comes down to the fact that while the Wii U sold OK this holiday season, it wasn’t nearly the smash hit that its predecessor was. But, at the same time, at least most people won’t be forced to pony up for a new console just to play the game!
