Uncharted 3’s Multiplayer Goes Free To Play

It’s not very often that a major game has parts of it go free-to-play, but that’s exactly what’s happened with Uncharted 3. As of this moment anybody can download and play Uncharted 3’s competitive multiplayer for free. In this free version you can play earn up to the first 15 levels without having to pay a single penny.

If you want a little more spice in Uncharted 3 Naughty Dog also has a set of microtransactions for players. For instance, you can up the level cap to level 25, or remove it altogether, and you can also purchase the co-op arena and co-op adventure as well. Of course, if you’re planning on buying all the DLC you might as well pick up the GOTY digital version and save yourself a few bucks, and get the single player to boot.

One of the nice things about the free edition is that if you hit the level cap and decide to pay to have it raised or removed you won’t lose out on any of the XP you had earned since hitting the cap. Instead, your level will raise instantly to the level that you should be at. And what’s more, there are no restrictions on weapon mods, perks, and unlockable characters that are available for the first 15 levels. Really, it seems like the best way to think about the F2P Uncharted 3 is to think of it as a free demo mode.
