David Hayter Won’t Be Voicing Solid Snake In Next Metal Gear Solid

If you’re a hardcore Metal Gear fan you may have noticed something a little odd about this trailer. For many people, they’ll notice the voice of Kiefer Sutherland in the game, which is big enough news in-and-of itself. The hardcore fans, however, will notice a distinct lack of David Hayter in there.

Unfortunately it has nothing to do with Mr. Hayter not having recorded his lines or anything yet. Instead, according to the man himself, he wasn’t even asked to reprise the role of Big Boss/Solid Snake. It’s a bit sad to see that such a prominent voice actor is apparently being tossed aside so casually.

So now what? Some fans are speculating that he’ll be end up voicing another character in the game, or perhaps even a young Solid Snake (who would be about 11 years old in MGS 5). However, from the way it sounds like on his Twitter page, that’s just not going to be the case, stating that he’s “had a good run”.
