Bethesda Moving On From Major Development In Skyrim

After nearly a year and a half of developing DLC for Skyrim, Bethesda has decided to move on to bigger and better things. According to the studio, they’ve been working on pre-production for their next major project, though at this time what that project is is anybody’s guess. Considering the success of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, it wouldn’t surprise me to see them working on Fallout 4.

Skyrim got its start back in 2006, and though it took a solid 5 years to go from concept to release, the wait was worth it. With tons of content available in the vanilla version of the game, as well at 3 DLC packs available for purchase, Skyrim has really left its mark in gaming lore. It’s going to be a bit of a challenge to follow up Skyrim, but I’ve got a feeling Bethesda is up for the challenge.

Luckily for the fans still playing the game out there, Bethesda isn’t totally abandoning the game. They still plan to push out minor updates to the game as needed, to address tweaks and bugs as needed. And if you get bored and need more content to play with, keep in mind that the PC version of the game is supported in the Steam Workshop.
