Ah, another year, another Call of Duty game. For the past few years the series have gotten even more stale than back when it was nothing but one WW2 shooter after another. However, if this data is correct, it looks like Infinity Ward’s next CoD may finally break out of theModern Warfare mold that it’s been stuck in.
According to leaked images, it looks like the game will be titled Call of Duty: Ghosts. There’s not a whole lot that can be said about it, though it is also rumored that this game will indeed be taking place some time in the future. It had also been rumored at some point that the next CoD game would be next-gen only, but the leaked box art and retail listings suggest otherwise.
You know, with a name like Ghosts, and the fact that Activision and Blizzard are under the same roof, part of me things that it’d be really cool if this game was a sort of predecessor to StarCraft, where you’re part of the fledgling Ghost program. After all, people are still clamoring for StarCraft: Ghost despite the fact that it’s been years since the game was effectively cancelled. But now, that’s most assuredly not going to happen. That would be too interesting and cool…
