The Nemesis Of Batman In Arkham Origins Is…

When Batman: Arkham Origins was announced last week we learned a few things about the new game. For one, it’s going to be released on October 25th for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. One of the villains in the game is Deathstroke. And according to past reports, Mark Hamill is not expected to reprise his role of the Joker.

With the Joker out as the games primary antagonist, who’s going to take his place? Mr. Freeze? The Penguin? It’s none of the above. Instead, the main villain for Arkham Origins is… Black Mask.

If you don’t know who he is, well here is a quick synopsis. Born Roman Sionis, he was the son of wealthy socialite couple in Gotham who were quite frankly abusive to their son. After killing his parents he made an ebony mask out of his father’s coffin that he wears to this day after Batman accidentally pushed him in a fire that Sionis started in his childhood home and the mask fused to his face. Like Bruce Wayne he runs a very successful company, the Janus Cosmetics company, but has turned to organized crime to fuel his empire. In Arkham Origins he’s hired 8 of the best assassins to go after Batman on Christmas Eve, and from the looks of things I feel like he might be a good replacement for the Joker. And hey, who knows? Maybe we’ll even see him in a little cameo, seeing that this game is meant to be a prequel of sorts.
