Gran Turismo 6 Is Coming This Holiday Season!
With over 70 million copies sold across the series, Gran Turismo is the most successful PlayStation franchise ever. Featuring tons of cars, locations, races, what-have-you, the series has always attracted the car aficionado from its early days on the original PlayStation. It’s no surprise to see that Sony will be releasing Gran Turismo 6 this holiday season, and they’re also releasing a demo this July.
Featuring over 1200 cars, 33 locations, and 71 layouts, GT6 promises to be absolutely huge. Despite 1200 cars sounding like an impressive number, it’s nothing really when you consider the fact that there will be thousands of different body parts as well as custom wheels available for most of the cars. That means that it’s not very likely that you’ll be finding somebody driving your exact car anytime soon.
Now you might be thinking “This game looks to be like a launch title for the PS4.” I’m afraid you’re wrong. Instead, GT6 will be for the PS3 only, at least for this holiday season. Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has said, however, that they are thinking about a PS4 release down the road, but for now it’s best to get it out for the PS3 by the holiday season before focusing on the next-gen console.
