Microsoft announced today during its E3 press conference that it would be releasing a new, slimmer version of the Xbox 360 that would be available in North America, starting today. Not much more was said about it, aside from the fact that it would be smaller, sleeker, and quieter.
Shortly after, the cost of the Xbox One was revealed–$499.00 on the US market.
It was also mentioned that Xbox Live memberships would be transferable to your Xbox One, though no mention was made as to whether or not your Gold account could exist simultaneously across the two platforms. Microsoft also announced that it would be changing its Xbox Gold subscriptions to include two free games per month, starting with Assassin’s Creed II and Halo 3.
No word on if this will change the price of its Gold membership.
