During their E3 press conference Ubisoft announced a brand new game: Tom Clancy’s The Division. It’s based on a rather basic idea: it’s essentially a post-apocalyptic world where a flu epidemic has destroyed the worlds infrastructure. You’re part of a team that’s being tasked to help keep order in what is a lawless world.
It’s a tactical RPG shooter, and focuses a lot of squad-based tactics. Each squadmate has different strengths and weaknesses, and will even incorporate tablet players, as somebody on a tablet flew in a drone quadcopter and used it to mark out an enemy hiding behind a thin sign. It looks to be pretty intense.
The Division will be released for the PS4 and the Xbox One. The world is going to be a large, persistent world, so I’d guess that an internet connection may be required. There will be a single player mode, however Ubisoft encourages players to join up with other players.
