The Phoenix Wright games have always been full of cheeky characters, with a bit of slapstick humor in it for good measure. At the same time, however, the games don’t shy away from murders or anything, often showing the grisly aftermath of such misadventures as Phoenix and his associates try to figure out what exactly happened in a case. At their core, these games aren’t for little kids.
It’s still surprising, however, to see that the latest Phoenix Wright game, Dual Destinies has been rated ‘M’ for Mature by the ESRB. According to Capcom, “Due to the nature of the various crimes and storylines in this latest title in the series, ESRB deemed the title an M.” The ESRB has labeled the game ‘M’ for “Blood, Violence, Suggestive Themes, Language”.
So is this game going to be more violent than its predecessors? That isn’t exactly known at this time, though I would guess that Capcom didn’t go out of their way to ratchet up the violence and cussing in this game. We’ll find out when Dual Destinies comes out later this year through the 3DS eShop.
