In its brief life the Wii U has had some trouble in getting major 3rd-party games for the platform. After all, the fact is that the Wii U just hasn’t sold that many consoles, it’s innards are a bit underpowered when compared to the Xbox One and PS4, and its controller is radically different from anything anybody is used to. No wonder many developers aren’t even bothering to develop any games for the system.
If you’re a Call of Duty fan, and for some reason you want to play it on the Wii U you’re in luck. Activision announced yesterday that Call of Duty: Ghosts will be coming to the Wii U on November 5th. That’s the same day that the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC versions are released as well.
Activision also announced 5 other games coming this fall, although they’re not what I would call AAA games. Skylanders SWAP Force, Angry Birds Trilogy (and Angry Birds Star Wars), SpongeBob SquarePants: Plankton’s Robotic Revenge, and Wipeout Create & Crash are all coming to the Wii U as well. Getting Ghosts is a good start at making the Wii U somewhat relevant to more hardcore gamers, but for now it looks like the console is going to continue to be pitched to the casual crowd.
