If you’re a racing game aficionado and are planning on picking up the PS4 then you are already aware that it’s been a bit of a rough month for you. After all, both DriveClub and The Crew had been delayed until well into next year. Not only that, but the one racing game that is coming during the initial launch window, Need for Speed: Rivals, isn’t supposed to be coming out until the 19th, four days after the release of the PS4. Right?
Well folks, I’m happy to report that that November 19th date is now WRONG. Sony announced yesterday afternoon that Need for Speed: Rivals is now a launch day title for the PS4. Now you’ll be able to wreck speeders and outrun cops a full half of a week before NFS fans on other consoles!
I’m not going to lie, this news is really quite exciting for me. I’ve been a fan of racing games and the Need for Speed series since the days of the original PlayStation, and getting a chance to play this game from day one really makes me a happy camper. And what’s more, having this game as well as Battlefield 4 out on the same weekend will really be able to show just how versatile the Frostbite 3 engine really is.
