What You Need to Know About Fortnite Save the World

Featuring beautiful, colorful graphics and a unique take on the battle royale genre, Fortnite has become a veritable phenomenon, boasting one of the world’s largest and most devoted communities of gamers. But it didn’t begin life as a battle royale game, and Save the World honors this heritage, being the first version of Fortnite commercially released. As you can imagine, Epic Games is determined to go all out for the birthday celebration of their smash hit game, and Fortnite Save the World is just that moment.

To accompany the one year anniversary of Fortnite, Epic Games released special edition Birthday Llamas to players. These rewards contain any piece of gear from any of the special events over the past year, excluding in-game quests. So if you missed a piece of loot earlier in Fortnite’s life and you’re still dying to get it, the Birthday Llama might gift you with something special if you wish hard enough. In total Epic Games is promising players three Birthday Llamas, up from the original number of 2. A problem with the Hydra not dropping from the Birthday Llama caused the team to issue a fix to enable the item to drop the Hydra. The Hydra is also on sale at a discounted rate in the in-game store to compensate for this inconvenience.

Another announcement from Fortnite Save the World will be following in the footsteps of its super popular battle royale brother by adopting a free-to-play business model that Epic Games promises will begin with the conclusion of Fortnite’s Season 5 of battle royale. Though this is mainly speculation at this point rumors about it persist and it is well known within the community that Epic Games wants to increase Fortnite’s community beyond its already outstanding levels. Making Fortnite Save the World free-to-play will not only grow that community but could also lead to a lot of battle royale players coming over and experiencing that side of Fortnite as well.

To celebrate both Save the World and the battle royale game Epic Games will be releasing exclusive skins for each game mode. Known as founder’s packs, these skins will be exclusive to people who have participated in the game from the beginning or have joined in recent months. As for other plans about the future of Fortnite Epic Games is remaining mum as a lot of the company’s time is spent harmonizing the various Fortnite experiences out there. Being one of the largest multi-platform games around, we can imagine this is a tough task indeed. New features and additions are expected in announcements later this year leading up to the Winter shopping season in order to get consumers hyped over the changes coming to their favorite game. Though an intensely competitive genre, Fortnite’s success in the battle royal sub-genre has proven the game’s ability to take on multiple core competencies and emerge successful with the differences between the Save the World and battle royale game modes only further serving as highlights of Epic Games’ triumph in this area.
