It seems that over the weekend Sony was in some heat with fans about the “Welcome Back” program that was rolled out in lieu of the PlayStation Network outage back in April. There was a debate over the definition of “through” in Sony’s announcement of the program, and the company ended up not making a cause for more argument.
The original program stated that it would “run through July 3rd,” which was the grounds for debate. Some players wanted to argue that the “through” phrase meant that it would go through the day, ending on the 4th, while the company wanted to say that it meant the deal would end on the 3rd at midnight. Players who were late to the game wanted to reap whatever rewards they could, and others just wanted to wait for the very last day to cash in their PlayStation Plus membership to get the most out of it.
In response to his debate, Sony has extended the Welcome Back program to end on July 5th, at 9 AM Pacific time. If you haven’t made use of the program, now is your time to do it as the company will not have any remorse for those who don’t. Those who complained and pleaded with Sony got what they asked for, and now it’s time to cash-in on it.
