Supreme Ruler: Cold War Patch Released, Adds New Scenario

Paradox Interactive has announced some great information for PC RTS game fans out there. Their hit title Supreme Ruler: Cold War is not only getting a nice patch update, but the game will be getting a brand new scenario for players to stomp through.

The new patch features include:

– More than 80 new Cold War events
– 65 actual leader pictures
– Many new units, unit meshes, technology updates
– Significant game speed and AI improvements
– New game features, interface improvements, and general fixes.

The patch is now available through an update that’s automatic through the game’s launcher. The new scenario is called “Shadow of the Bear,” and its premise is such:

As the Cold War heats up in the late 1950’s, what would have been the fallout if a nuclear exchange had occurred between the United States and the USSR? Perhaps it would have given China a chance to emerge from the Shadow of the Bear. Start the game as China just before a nuclear exchange between the US and USSR. Use the opportunity of the Super Powers weakening each other to move against one of them and claim China’s place as a new Supreme Ruler.

So if you’re a fan of the game, or of RTS titles in general, you may want to be sure to add this game to your list. Those who already own it should update the game to get the patch and the new scenario. To get familiar with the game, check out the trailer below.
