Only 9 People Have Completed ZombiU’s Survival Mode So Far

Many people nowadays complain about the lack of truly hard video games. Gone are the days of Contra, where the slightest mistake can undo hours of grueling work. Instead, what you get these days is unlimited lives, where if you die, it’s ok because you’ll be transported back about 2 or 3 minutes, where you can go ahead and try again as many times as you want. In fact, in some games if you die enough times the game will let you step back a difficulty level, with no penalty!

But for those people who really want the challenge, who want their game to mean something, then you just might get some enjoyment out of ZombiU’s Survival mode. Now, the premise for the regular mode is simple: you’re a survivor, and you have to kill zombies and whatnot. If you die, that character is brought back to life, but you’ll essentially restart the mission and have a chance at completing that mission with a whole new character. Survival mode is different: if you die, that’s it, game over man.

So far, in the week and a half since the game’s been out, only about 9 people have apparently completed Survival mode. When you consider the fact that there’s probably dozens or even hundreds of people who completed Halo 4 on Legendary by the end of the first week, that means that Survival Mode is pretty damn intense. In fact, Ubisoft producer Xavier Poix had even admitted that there was doubt that there would be anybody capable of completing Survival mode throughout the office! So, for anybody out there who’s looking for a real challenge, it looks like ZombiU’s Survival mode is the mode for you!
