GameLab Conference Kicks Off Later This Month

Starting on June 29th and running through July 1st, Barcelona will become Europe’s video game capital as it bears host to the GameLab Conference 2011. The conference is in its seventh year, and it will be gathering some of the most influential creators in the gaming industry.

Hideo Kojima, father of the Metal Gear Series, Peter Molyneux, creator of the Fable series, and Cliff Bleszinski, the mastermind behind the Gears of War series will all be in attendance at the conference this year. Gamelab Conference will also feature notable figures such as the visionary founder of Electronic Arts and Digital Chocolate, Trip Hawkins; the historical founder of Westwood Studios and current Vice President of Zynga, Louis Castle; the controversial designer, ex-IdSoftware, American McGee, and virtual world’s pioneer Richard Bartle.

What fans have to look forward to with this year’s GameLab Conference are influential speakers, the presentation of new video game information to the public, round-table discussions, interactive and artistic exhibitions, contests, and discussions regarding how video games are shaping the future of many different cultures. GameLab will be issuing awards to many different companies, each for a different aspect of the industry. You can catch all of the coverage at www.GameLab.es, just in case you can’t make it to the event. GameLab Conference 2011 looks like it will be a great compliment to this year’s E3, and I look forward to seeing what comes from the long-running event.
